Rats.. how it begun

I’m going to start this off with how this rattery was not at all intentional. but how it grew to become what it is today we will have to dive into each rat I own and their personalities, this post will cap on brief rat situations because I have way too many stories to condense them down into one post.

we will start by speaking on how many are in this rattery, first generation wise there is 11 rats 9 girls 2 boys… Tina, Carmel, Willow, Squeakers, Ozzy, Pee Pee rat, Georgina, Smokey, and Sweet pea are the girls Gus Gus and Ace being the two boys. now the second generation is less organized they do not all have names due to hoping some will get adopted out but there are 17 boys’ and girls’ baby wise belonging to Ozzy and Tina with the help of Ace and Gus Gus now you may be saying dang that’s a lot of rats… somedays I agree with you other days these rats are my heart and they keep me pushing and taking care of business

let’s further into this thing I’m posting about my rats. so Tina was my very first rat I didn’t realize they were creatures that needed companion ship so I ended up having to go back and get another rat yes you read that right another one… my husband was not very pleased to have one rat let alone a second one but no worries these girls grew on him… now I didn’t understand anything about rats or even rat introductions so I put Tina and Carmel and oh maybe a third rat rat named smokey together and God at 3am witching hour all heck broke loose… tina started squaring off with smokey showing who was the boss of the chicken coop; I of course thought they just didn’t get along not that this was a form of warming up to each other so I can’t make this up. But I sat on the floor with miss Tina in my hands crying to my husband about how we can’t just abandon her. but what was I to do; needless to say, I understand introductions with rats now.

Then came sweet pea she was balding when I got her due to the type of rat she is she still loses hair now and again, after her my husband really wanted a black rat so along came Ozzy she actually is not very friendly unlike we hoped for but this happens when you get rats from a pet store and not a local breeder. though although Ozzy is not friendly type, she had a baby we named Socks for it looks like he’s wearing them but he’s all black with a white belly he is very friendly loves to be held. anyways then came what I like to call the Siamese twins both white looking lab rats willow and squeakers aside from their appearance are so cuddly.. pee pee rat feels like I’ve always had her so I don’t fully remember getting her she will be going to my father who insists she’s awesome…! she will bang the cage door open and shut for attention for food and for water and honestly just for the heck of it. I got Georgina around the time of the passing of my dear uncle his name was George hence the name Georgina she’s very spunky and outgoing she even knows her name and when I’m talking directly to her.

then came the boy boys they are a brother duo I got for my birthday so I could you guessed it breed my rats only a few of them that I wanted babies from, Tina of course because she is my heart rat my soul animal my familiar , and well Ozzy in hopes of tamer off spring and I was right they are so loving the second generation of rats jump into my hands crawl up my arms.. and even come up to me if they somehow escape the cage which believe me happens more than not. I have some stories to tell about jail riots with the rats but that’s for a later date.
